WhichCraftPh’s First Blogapalooza Experience: Benefits of Blogging

Last November 5, 2016 , I had the honor of attending my very first Blogapalooza Experience at Novotel Araneta Manila.

I invited my friends with me but due to their schedules and short notice, it was only my friend Arden who was able to make it to the event and we had a great time connecting with bloggers and brands that supported the event.

Miss Ace Gapuz (Managing Director of Blogapalooza) and the rest of Blogapalooza organizers have managed to successfully welcome the attendees.

Blogapalooza is probably one of the largest gatherings of bloggers and businesses. I am really thankful that the organizers accepted my intent to attend the event.

With less than six (6) months of blogging, I am not expecting that they will consider me to be part of the event. So, when I was accepted to join I am really grateful because it was an opportunity for me and my friend Arden to learn something new and meet fellow bloggers.

What is Blogapalooza?

Blogapalooza is a business-to-blogger event that intends to connect Businesses and Bloggers directly.

The first event was held in 2011. It was merely by invitation that businesses and bloggers can join.

Businesses would present their products or services and build relationships with the bloggers, while bloggers get to see what’s fresh and network with businesses to make deals happen.

Blogapalooza is more of a mixture of a trade show, entertainment event, discussion and networking all in one event, with some games and freebies for fun.

Blogapalooza 2016 Horizons:  Charting the Uncharted was scheduled at 10am-8pm.

Arden and I got there at exactly 10 am. Since I already pre-registered, checking in for us was an ease.

Once inside, we were greeted by participating booths showcasing their products and services. Because it was our first time, we really have a little idea on what to do.

Thankfully, a guy representative from Amada’s Leche Flan and Desserts approached us and chat with us some details about their business.

The friendly guy from Amada’s advised us to go back to their booth for a free taste and freebies of their products after the opening remarks and ribbon cutting as we arrived there so early and they are just starting to set up.

He was very accommodating and he gave us their business card for future connection. Good thing I was able to print out some business cards for the event too in exchange.

After the opening ceremony, we went around to visit the participating booths and have fun learning about the products and services from the friendly representatives of each brand.

Hopefully, I can share with you the services and details being offered by each of these brands starting next week. Probably, one brand a week.

Crafts and Talks

Talks from the guest speakers are my favorite part of the event. I really love listening to different inspiring stories which would help me grow as a writer, entrepreneur, mother, and a wife.

I personally became more inspired to focus on developing my crafts because of the inspiring talks from the guests at the event such as Sky Gavin of wheninmanila.com, Mafae Belasco of Mafae Management,  Nico Belasco of NB, Juliet van Ruyven (author of The Tale of Juliet), and other notable speakers.  We also learned a lot on the Panel  Discussion featuring Blogger group representatives  from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Things That We Have Learned: Subject – Benefits of Blogging

  1. At times a blog starts out as a hobby only to become a full-time business.
  2. Static websites don’t attract many new clients. But a regularly updated blog can create a regular stream of good leads globally.
  3. The only way to become a better writer is to write, day after day. And that’s exactly what an active blogger spends his or her time doing. The more you blog, the more you write – and the better writer you become.
  4. Keeping a blog isn’t just a good way to become a better writer; it may be your fastest path to becoming a published writer.
  5. Bloggers spend most of their time, sharing their ideas and insights with their readers. But if you listen, you’ll find that your readers share a lot with you too.
  6. Starting a blog expand your network. It is also a good platform for reaching out to others.
  7. Your quest to put up new content to your blog will lead you to always be searching for new information and sharing it with your readers and keeping you always updated.
  8. Connect with the people you admire.
  9. The powers of a blog to educate, inspire, and bring like-minded people together makes BLOGGING A GREAT WAY TO HELP PEOPLE.
  10. Build Trust Online for future connections and collaborations.
